XCOM: Enemy Unknown’s Visuals ‘Inspired By Miniatures’ – Screens
XCOM: Enemy Unknown’s art style drops the graphic novel look of earlier games in favour of designs inspired by ‘stylised miniatures’ according to Firaxis developer Greg Foertsch, speaking to GI.
There’s more images through the link, but as you can see from the thre screens we have here, there’s something not entirely dissimilar to Star Wars: The Old Republic in XCOM’s visual design.
The screens also show more of the XCOM team’s underground base and, crucially, that the tactical map will revert back to an isometric-style overview as required.
