Xbox One Release Date Confirmed By Microsoft
After shocking the world by not revealing the Xbox One’s release date Gamescom, Microsoft has finally confirmed that its next-gen Xbox will launch on 22 November 2013 in 13 markets.
Sony has already confirmed that the PS4’s release date is 15 November 2013 in the US and 29 November 2013 in Europe.
The Xbox One has been delayed in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland. It won’t appear in these markets until early 2014.
This puts Microsoft’s Xbox One a week after the PS4 in America, but a week before it in Europe and the UK. Whether that will have an impact we won’t know until November.
The 13 markets the Xbox One will launch in are: UK, Eire, Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand.
This is the closest a console war has ever been fought, with most console launches separating by at least a number of months. For many gamers – who can only afford one of the two next-gen consoles – it really is a time to pick a side and run with it.
Hopefully it won’t give rise to even more ardent fanboys than we had this generation.
Anyway, Xbox One release date is 22 November 2013.
