Xbox One November system update finally adds custom backgrounds and Twitter integration
The Xbox One will finally let you customise your console’s dashboard background, Microsoft has announced.
The November system update will basically bring back loads of features that we never wanted to lose from the Xbox 360 era of Xbox Live, better late than never, right?
You’ll be able to pick artwork from your unlocked achievements to set as your background initially, though a later update through the console’s media player App will let you upload a custom image.
Xbox One’s upcoming November firmware update will finally let you customise your console’s desktop background.
That’s not all either, the Profile App is also getting a big update. The location and bio information is returning, and you’ll also have the ability to highlight up to six Game DVR clips or unlocked achievements to show off on your profile page as part of the new Showcase Feature.
Should you really love social media, you can also link your Twitter account to your Xbox One and share game clips directly via the service for the first time.
There’s also plenty of updates coming to the OneGuide and a new What’s On tab – but we don’t want to spoil it all! Check Major Nelson’s video above for the rest of the details.
The update doesn’t have a firm launch date yet, but we would imagine mid-November is a pretty decent guesstimate.
