Xbox One Boots Players To Dashboard During Killer Instinct Tournament
Microsoft removed the always-online requirement from the Xbox One ahead of the console’s release, but a recent Killer Instinct tournament has proved that this doesn’t mean that DRM won’t still rear it’s ugly head.
During a Killer Instinct tournament being streamed live on Twitch TV, players found themselves booted to the Xbox One’s dashboard, receiving a message that asked whether they own the game.
This would be frustrating at the best of times, but being booted from the game was far from ideal, given that the match being played was part of a qualifying tournament for a pro gaming event.
You can see the incident in the video below; it happens at around 6:30.
