What Games Could Microsoft Have Planned For Autumn 2015?
Autumn 2015’s line-up of Xbox One games is reportedly so “crazy” that Microsoft doesn’t quite know what to do with itself, Phil Spencer has said today in an interview with Xbox Live’s Major Nelson (handily transcribed by the folks at VideoGamer).
Speaking with Major Nelson, Spencer explained that the company might have to “purposely try to move some things out” of the release window to give the games the space they need to thrive.
“Looking at production schedules and how things are lining up, next fall is just crazy. I mean, this fall from a 1st-party/3rd-party standpoint is great. Next fall, I don’t… Honestly it’s not hype at all, I honestly don’t know that we can actually ship all the stuff that thinks it’s trying to ship next fall. It just might be too crowded and we might purposely try to move some things out to spread it. You have to [give them some breathing room], you have to do that.”
Microsoft has only announced two games that will definitely appear on the system in the autumn 2015 time-frame so far. Xbox exclusives Halo 5: Guardians and Rise Of The Tomb Raider will be here before Christmas, but what else could there be?
It’s likely that fellow exclusives Fable Legends, Quantum Break, and Scalebound could hit before the year’s end, while there’s still titles such as Crackdown, ScreamRide and Phantom Dust still yet to be dated. That’s all before we consider the inevitable launches of Forza Motorsport 6, Killer Instinct: Season Three and Titanfall 2 (while they are currently all unannounced, an E3 2015 showing is a given.)
And that’s just off the top of our head, who knows what else the publisher could have planned. There’s still the new next-gen RARE game to consider, the rumours of another Dead Rising and plenty of other speculation floating around. Basically 2015 is going to be a pretty amazing year for Xbox owners, and at this rate, the beginning of 2016 will be pretty great as well!
