Even if you didn’t play Skyrim when it arrived in late 2011, you were probably aware of its impact. We certainly were – every evening we’d trek home after work and find someone on the couch entranced by the game, having typically been there since lunchtime.
That’s why we’re a little bit worried by this latest development. Redditor LinuxVersion has managed to mod the game to the point that it’ll run natively on a budget Windows tablet, meaning that the addiction can even follow you outside the house. You can see how it actually looks in the pics below.
What’s impressive is that the Toshiba Encore 2 used is well below the minimum specs Skyrim expects – in particular, the RAM is well below the 2GB needed. Apparently, the game is running at an average of 16-26fps. That’s certainly impressive performance from a sub-£200 tablet that’s almost 18 months old.
