Watch Dogs 1080p On PS4, No Comment On Xbox One
Ubisoft’s Lars Bonde has confirmed that the PS4 version of Watch Dogs “will run at full HD” but, perhaps tellingly, refrained from commenting on the resolution of the Xbox One version of Watch Dogs.
There have been rumours that the Xbox One version of Watch Dogs will run at a lower resolution that that of the PS4 and Ubisoft’s decision to comment on one and not the other suggests that could be the case.
“At its core it’s the same experience on current-gen and next-gen consoles, you get the same gameplay out of it, but of course there’re nuances to it,” Bonde told PC Games.
“We are utilising Xbox One to its full capability, and the PS4 of course, so, I know that, to my knowledge, on PS4 it will run in full HD,” said Bonde.
There are also suggestions that the Xbox One version of Watch Dogs will run at a lower framerate than the PS4 version after Watch Dogs creative director Jonathan Morin stated that the framerate on the PS4 version of Watch Dogs would be very stable while neglecting to comment on the Xbox One.
Of course, none of this amounts to official confirmation that Watch Dogs will have either a lower framerate or resolution on Xbox One than on PS4.
Nevertheless, reading between the lines, we would be far from shocked to discover that this is the case.
