One of the best launch games on Xbox One and still a lot of fun on the 360, Zoo Tycoon is a fantastic zoo management sim game that also has some fun Kinect interactions with the wildlife. The animation and recreations of each animal are excellent throughout, making it feel very life-like. We also enjoyed watching our animals level up enough that we could release them to the wild.
Are they animals or just Piñatas? They certainly look like animals. But then again you send them off to parties to fulfill their Piñata purposes. While it’s not clear, Viva Piñata is essentially a pet game as you build a world that is inviting enough for different species to arrive and thrive in your garden. It’s one of nicest games on Xbox 360.
A game that split opinion in the gaming world, largely because some people just aren’t big fans of Kinect, this little interactive pet game was still very cute. It’s from the same developer as Zoo Tycoon so again the animation is excellent, although the style is a little more cartoonish. Training tiger cubs is kind of appealing though.
A bear and a bird working together to collect golden puzzle pieces and build wonderful contraptions in aid of beating a wicked witch… what’s not to love about that concept? This is perhaps a stretch of he animal lover concept, but it’s a lot of fun and it is packed full of cartoon critters to interact with, so we stand by this choice, albeit with one foot aimed towards the exit.
Dogs are kind of the vogue companion in gaming right now since one appeared in Call Of Duty: Ghosts and Grand Theft Auto V, but we’ve chosen a dog that isn’t going to get shot at and you can really play with and train as your companion. Fable did a great job of making your dog a great component in the game, leading you to hidden treasure and helping you in battle. Truly a hero’s best friend.
