One of our favourite publishers right now is Devolver Digital – the indie publisher responsible for thrusting Hotline Miami, OlliOlli and Luftrausers right under our dirty little noses.
But why stop there, eh? Devolver continues to pluck ripe little indies straight from the indie farm and take them into its loving arms, looking after them, promoting them, showing them to the world. Here are our favourite upcoming Devolver games…
Cited by Ars Technica as the ‘ultimate 16-bit’ game, Crossing Souls is an exercise in nostalgia. It’s an 80s-inspired 2D action-adventure that oozes originality and creativity and emits a faint neon glow all the while. Developed by Fourattic, the game found massive success on Kickstarter and has only gathered more attentions since being picked up by Devolver.
NOCT is a top-down multiplayer survival action game that fuses arcade combat with lite-RPG survival elements. Destructoid seemed to enjoy the playable prototype that’s doing the internet rounds at the moment, and Toronto-based developer C3sk has already made an impact with the lo-fi presentation of the game. Who’d have thought a top-down horror game could actually be this impactful?
