The War Z Beta Begins Attracting Over 500,000 Players
The War Z beta has begun and it has already managed to attract over 500,000 players, according to developers Hammerpoint.
Among one of the first games to offer competition to DayZ, The War Z bills itself as a survival MMO.
After a few months in alpha testing, Hammerpoint has finally opened the game up to beta tersting and seen a tremendous response with 500,000 active players.
“We are extremely happy with the way our public Alpha has been going,” explained executive producer Sergey Titov.
“We will now move to a short Beta period before we transition again to our Foundation Release, at which point we will continue to work with our community to add features and content that will continue the evolution of the game. As long as our players keep playing, we will keep developing!”
According to MP1st the new beta adds in a few additional features, too, including:
- New playable characters
- Clan support with in-game clan tags, in-game clan chat and visual markers for clan members
- New playable area including “Colorado” with the current map size increased by 50 percent
- New items in the marketplace
