Sony’s PSN Plus Christmas Gifts Has Free Games For Newcomers
PSN Plus users are being treated this Christmas as Sony is rewarding its subscribers with free PS3 and PSN games.
The offer, which begins today with a free download for Sonic 2, will contain 12 free games throughout December. Each game will be available for 48 hours, after which the gift will be taken down and swapped for the next.
While Sonic 2 is the only game confirmed, Sony has stated on the official PlayStation blog that over the course of the promotion there will be 8 PSN titles, two minis and two PSone Classics – though it has not specified what these will be.
Loyal subscribers from the early days of PSN Plus, however, will not find this festive treat particularly appealing, since all the content available across the Christmas period will have already been available as part of PSN Plus previously.
We don’t like to sound too cynical during Christmas, however, so remember that this is mostly a promotion to entice new PSN Plus users into the fold and merely an addition to the expected PSN Plus content due for December, which Sony confirmed will be dropping at some point this month.
