Sledgehammer Unlikely To Return To Action Call of Duty Title, ‘Too Niche’
Modern Warfare 3 co-developer Sledgehammer Games President Glen Schofield has confirmed to NowGamer that the studio has no plans to return to its secretive ‘action/adventure’ Call of Duty project, saying it was “too niche”.
Asked if Sledgehammer would return to the Call of Duty title it started before working on Modern Warfare 3, Schofield replied: “I don’t think we’ll go back to that one. The genre… it was really good, but it might be a bit niche. I don’t know. We had something special there. We’ll see. I’ve had a blast making a first-person shooter.”
It was widely speculated that Sledgehammer’s game was to be a third-person action adventure – but not any more.
Look out for the full video interview with Schofield soon on NowGamer.
