Sign Up For The Smite Beta To Sample MOBAs On Xbox One
At Gamescom 2014, Microsoft announced that Smite would be making its way to Xbox One. Now, thanks to Hi-Rez Studios, you have the opportunity to sample the MOBA for yourself.
The MOBA genre has struggled to establish itself on consoles, despite its insane popularity on PC thanks to the likes of League Of Legends and DOTA 2. Still, Smite feels better suited to a controller – taking on a third-person perspective instead of the standard isometric camera of its peers.
The open beta on Xbox One is due to begin in the “next couple of months” but you can sign up now by swinging over to the official site and offering your email address up to the Battleground of the Gods.
The Xbox One version of Smite is also expected to get a full reveal this weekend during the Smite World Championships in Atlanta. The prize pool for competitive players is already at an insane $2.5 million dollars – let’s hope some of those eSports big bucks come our way when the game lands on Xbox One later this year for real.
