Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell sends you to Hell in 2015
While we had been expecting Volition to announce Saints Row 5 last Friday at PAX Prime, the studio instead took the opportunity to revisit Saints Row 4 for one last time.
Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell sends the Saints’ Johnny Gat and Kinzie into Hell via a ouija board to battle demons, monsters and some “prominent historical figures,” all culminating in a fight with Satan. Gat Out of Hell features two-player online co-op, though the playable area will only be about half the size of Saints Row 4’s Steel Port.
“After the space faring antics of Saints Row IV, many fans asked what we could do next… the answer? Shoot The Devil in the face,” says publisher Deep Silver. “Play as either Johnny Gat or Kinzie Kensington as you tear apart Hell in a quest to save the leader of the Saints’ soul. Historical icons, old friends, older enemies, a talking gun, a full length musical number, and a whole lot of other shenanigans all await you in the open world standalone expansion playground that is Saints Row: Gat Out Of Hell.”
The stand-alone expansion will feature a number of new weapons, including a Locust gun, a gun that fires diseased frogs and the Arm Chairmageddon – which is a La-Z-Boy recliner with guns, obviously.
Gat Out of Hell will be available as a stand-alone purchase for $19.95 (UK price to be announced) for Xbox 360 and Xbox One on Jan. 27, 2015. It will also be part of an upcoming re-release of Saints Row 4: Re-Elected which is also due in Jan for Xbox One.
