Rebellion: ‘AvP Is No Rogue Warrior’
When it was pointed out to Alex Moore that both Shellshock 2: Blood Trails and recent flop Rogue Warrior might influence gamers' feelings towards the upcoming Aliens vs Predator, the developer insisted that they were worlds apart.
"I thought this question would come up and I suppose it’s something you’ve got to ask," Moore said in an interview with X360 magazine. "I would hope that people can see that Rebellion’s roots are in AvP. We’ve put an awful lot of time and effort and investment into AvP. Just the devotion to it and the fact that… I’ve got to be so careful what I say."
Rebellion developed the first Alien v Predator games for the Atari Jaguar (RIP) and PC in 1994 and 1999 respectively. Both games were critically lauded, and Moore is adamant Rebellion's affinity for the franchise will shine through.
"It is a labour of love and [Rogue Warrior and Shellshock 2] too are projects that had difficult times, as do all projects, but they were very tricky and had their own challenges. But, I think this is the one where we show that we are actually a world-class organisation and we can deliver – and we will deliver."
