PSN Online Storage Hints At Linked PS3/NGP Games
Online Storage will give PlayStation Plus subscribers 150MB of online storage to play with, enablng players to upload upto 1,000 game saves for access later via the XMB – and even on a friend's console when you log into your PlayStation Network account on a different PS3.
"PlayStation Plus members can also save their ‘copy protected’ game data to the Online Storage Some save data does not support Online Storage, however there will be a 24 hour period after saving before they can access the data on a different PS3," reads the PR.
Sony has long hinted at cloud-based features for PlayStation – the most recent came at the PlayStation Meeting in January. During the NGP reveal event Hideo Kojima said his dream is "playing on your PS3, and when you go out, you put the game on your NGP, and when you come back home, you can once again use your PS3 and large screen TV."
"This dream is going to come true in the near future," Kojima said at the time. "And right now, I'm working on this project of the dream. I'm sorry, I can't reveal this now. But we'd like to present what we're doing at E3."
