PS4 & Xbox One Pre-Orders Set Amazon Record
The impending release of next-gen consoles always gets gamers excited, and after the recent news of last week and E3 2013 it seems people are eager to pre-order the PS4 and Xbox One.
In a press release sent by Amazon.com, the online retailer last week achieved its highest ever number of pre-orders thanks to the PS4 and the Xbox One.
At its peak last week customers were pre-ordering a PS4 or an Xbox One at a rate of 2,500 consoles a minute.
Amazon added that there was a 4,000% increase in orders compared to consoles ordered during E3 of the previous year, which isn’t surprising considering neither the PS4 nor the Xbox One had been announced by then.
This record-breaking number of console pre-orders was nearly two times that of all videogame sales of 2012’s Black Friday shopping week.
