PS4 Will Be Revealed When It Offers A ‘Significant Leap’ Over PS3 – Sony
PlayStation boss Andrew House has revealed that Sony won’t discuss it’s next-gen console plans until it can “demonstrate a significant leap on the current experience”.
PlayStation 4 has been rumoured to be in development for some time, but there’s much less evidence for the next gaming platform from Sony, than there is for the next Xbox.
“The right time to talk about new advances in hardware is when you can demonstrate a significant leap on the current experience, and something that is going to be attractive,” House told MCV. “That remains our philosophy. Beyond that we have nothing to say at this point.”
House also refuted suggestions that PS Vita was neglected at E3 at the start of the month.
“We thought we gave Vita a good shout during the conference, there were two fantastic announcements which were designed to show that the platform can deliver very differentiated ‘only on Vita’ extensions of great console games,” he added, referring to Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation and Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified.
