PS4: Uncharted 4 In The Works?
Nolan North has said that he has seen an “unbelievable” PS4 game in action, but would not go so far as to name the game in question.
In an interview with GamerHub, North said: “We were talking to some people here today who brought Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, how amazing that was when it came out. Then Uncharted 2 game out a couple of years later and it blew the graphics away and then 3 has done that and now…I’ve seen some stuff that they’re testing.”
“I don’t remember what game it was,” North continued, “but they were doing some testing on the PS4 and I couldn’t believe that it was gameplay. I mean, it is extraordinary technology.”
North’s escalation through the series and his pause just as he’s seemingly about to get to Uncharted 4 could be telling.
Indeed, as the voice of Uncharted’s Nathan Drake, it would be reasonable to assume that if Uncharted 4 is in development, North has seen it.
We’re assuming that Sony and Naughty Dog like money, so it seems unthinkable that Uncharted 4 isn’t in the works for the PS4.
A place holder for Uncharted 4 also recently appeared on the German GameStop site. That could just be guess work on the sites part, but it’s interesting when read in conjunction with North’s comments.
North went on to praise the power of the PS4.
It’s an amazing machine,” North said. “I think it’s going to step up the game for any game. Whether it’s Uncharted, God of War, Call of Duty, all of these games are going to benefit from the technology that [they’re] putting out.”
“When we think that we’ve reached the pinnacle of what a game can look like, some genius somewhere makes it a little bit better and opens up the avenue for an opportunity to make a game even more cinematic, more of an experience,” Nolan continued.
“I think that the PS4 is going to be pretty amazing – it’s going to push those boundaries even further.”
