PS3 Exclusive Twisted Metal Delayed In Europe
Twisted Metal, the latest game in Eat Sleep Play’s over-the-top car combat series, will miss it’s mooted February release in Europe.
The PS3 game is due to launch in the US on 14 February.
“Localisation taking just a touch longer” David Jaffe wrote on NeoGAF, hinting that it could arrive in the region by 1 March.
The game will also arrive in Europe with cuts made to the game’s movie clips – as requested by SCEE.
“99 per cent of the cuts were in the movies and the movies are still intact and I sat with the editor – who was the same editor of the American movies – and we went thru and addressed the notes from Europe and made sure the stories still worked,” added Jaffe. “And to be fair, there have not been that many cuts.”
Twisted Metal will also feature minor cosmetic changes during gameplay too – while Jaffe was reluctant to edit the content he said he understood the reasons for the changes.
“You think I wanted to change content? F*** no,” he said. “But it ain’t my game (Sony owns the IP and funded it) and certain countries have – obviously – much stricter guidelines.” Having seperate discs for separate countries didn’t make sense he conceded.
The Twisted Metal beta is currently available on PSN.
