Next-Gen Xbox 720 Rumours: No Blu-ray, Two Launch Models
More rumours have surfaced about the next-gen Xbox 720, stating the console will not use Blu-ray but will have 3x the processing speed of the current Xbox 360.
The rumours allegedly originate from a source who has gone hands-on with the console’s prototype and was reported by Gaming Capacity.
There will apparently be two versions, a 320GB Arcade model and a 500GB Pro, with a 1TB hard disk available as a separate purchase.
The console is said to have an AMD eight-core x64 1.6GHz CP, Direct3d 11.x 800MHz GPU and 8GB of DDR3 RAM.
There is ‘no word’ on Kinect 2 but apparently the console is currently packed inside an Xbox 360 Slim case to ‘avoid complications’.
The tech specs sound plausible, but the lack of Blu-ray sounds false, with most other rumours stating the new Xbox will use the high-def disc format – so these are just rumours for now.
