New Halo 5 beta details – Maps, modes, weapons and loadouts
343 has announced new details for the Halo 5: Guardians beta, which is due to launch in December.
During Microsoft’s Gamescom presentation, the studio announced that the beta will contain three modes, 11 weapons, seven maps and seven armour sets.
The focus seems to be back on classic 4v4 arena gameplay, with the maps tailored to small firefights rather than the big, epic battles later Halo games became known for.
It was also announced that all players will start with the same loadouts – which we assume is a way for 343 to try and balance complaints directed at Halo 4’s loadouts.
Additionally, 343 teased that certain content from the beta will carry over to the final game, which is due to launch exclusively on Xbox One in 2015.
The Halo 5 beta will be available from 29 December 2014 through to 18 January. Access will be granted to those who own a copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
