Metal Gear Rising Revengance: ‘Cut Anything At 60 FPS’ – Platinum
Metal Gear Solid Rising may have been completely rebooted as a fast-paced action experience at Platinum Games, but Metal Gear Rising Revengance will retain the ‘cut anything’ mechanic originally touted by Konami when the game was first revealed.
“Clearing up some things: Metal Gear Rising Revengeance runs at 60FPS and it retains the cut anything mechanic,” Platinum Games tweeted.
It’ll certainly need to run at 60 fps if the bonkers debut trailer is anything to go by.
Platinum boss and Devil May Cry/Bayonetta dev Hideki Kamiya has confirmed he is not working on MGRR.
Meanwhile, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima confirmed the name change was all down to giving Platinum a clean slate to work from.
“One of the reasons changing the title from “Metal Gear Solid Rising” to “Metal Gear Rising” was that I wanted them to create new protagonist Raiden, not SOLID without been haunted by the spin-off,” he wrote.
More Metal Gear Rising Revengance details are expected at a press event in LA today, which will include a 25 minute video that looks at some of the development problems Kojima Productions came up against.
