Mass Effect 3: BioWare Talks More Complex Endings, DLC
Mass Effect 3’s various endgame scenarios will remember choices made throughout a gamer’s entire trilogy play-through to make them the most complex and varied in the series so far.
Asked by GI if Mass Effect 3’s ending was as complex as ME2, the series’ executive producer Casey Hudson said: “Yeah, and I’d say much more so, because we have the ability to build the endings out in a way that we don’t have to worry about eventually tying them back together somewhere. This story arc is coming to an end with this game. That means the endings can be a lot more different.”
Hudson added that Mass Effect 3’s conclusion will reflect decisions made from “who lives and who dies, civilizations that rose and fell, all the way down to individual characters.”
“That becomes the state of where you left your galaxy. The endings have a lot more sophistication and variety in them,” Hudson explained.
The developer also confirmed that Mass Effect 3 would receive story DLC similar to that seen in Mass Effect 2 which added missions to conquer ahead of the game’s conclusion.
