Looks Like The Division Could Have A Massive Cheating Issue To Deal With
The beta for Tom Clancy’s The Division has been going on over the weekend and while many have been enjoying the gameplay, it’s not been without its issues.
Besides the odd missing face (bringing back memories of Assassin’s Creed Unity) the really big issue has been isolated to PC and apparent hacking and cheating by players.
Multiple threads popped up on Reddit and the official Ubisoft forums as more and more PC players saw examples of infinite ammo, health and other stats that could be edited on the host PC and accepted by Ubisoft’s server.
“You can have unlimited ammo in a mag, super-speed (this, actually causes players to go invisible also), any desired critical chance, no recoil, unlimited medkits and nades and so on and on,” explained Z000001 on Reddit.
Thankfully the game’s lead studio Ubisoft Massive has faced these questions head on with community developer Hamish Bode answering concerns on Twitter.
@RedekerKane Of course there are. We’re on it, Stephen. Don’t you worry your pretty little face.

Importantly The Division is still in beta and this kind of issue is exactly what the development team would be looking for before release. Hopefully there’s enough time to fix the code before 8 March so that it can’t be so easily edited on PC.
