Is Forza Horizon 2 coming to Xbox One in 2014?
Microsoft has been vocal about its intention to annualize the Forza franchise in the past, and this slip from supercar manufacturer Ultima Sports seems to confirm the arrival of Forza Horizon 2 in 2014.
Taking to Facebook, the firm revealed:
“We have also recently agreed a new contract with the Microsoft Corporation to be included in a new video game to be launched later in 2014. The Ultima is proving to be very popular and is providing excellent worldwide publicity and recognition for our marque.”
There have been rumblings over the past few months that Forza Horizon 2 is in development at Playground Games, with studio director Gavin Raeburn revealing that his team was “working on an exciting, unannounced project for Xbox One.”
Technical artist Yibo Liu also reportedly referenced an “undisclosed next-gen Forza project” on his LinkedIn Profile last year, while job ads at Playground Games have suggested work is underway on a “genre-leading” racing game.
Microsoft has yet to announce any future plans for the franchise, but with intent to annualize already clear, it looks like we could be taking the wheel with Horizon 2 before the year’s end.
