Evolve: cloud AI “a cracking idea” for co-op shooters
Speaking exclusively to X-ONE, Evolve producer Iain Willows expressed his interest in the cloud AI, Drivatar system adopted in Xbox One launch game Forza Motorsport 5 and how it could be applied to shooters. The system saves your gaming data to Microsoft’s Azure cloud network and generates an AI version of you that your friends can race against. We suggested such a system could work well in co-op shooters like Evolve and Willows agreed.
“That’s a really good idea. I hadn’t thought about that… and I’ve been playing Forza, and it’s true, it is a really cool concept. I can’t speak for the development team, but maybe they have looked at that and maybe it will come in the final game, I don’t know. But it’s a cracking idea.”
