Call Of Duty Beachhead Add-Ons Worth $134m: Report
Call of Duty's next outing will be the first to enjoy the benefits of Activision's new online tech, dubbed Beachhead.
During a recent investor call Activision confirmed plans to further monetise the Call of Duty franchise with Beachhead, but stressed existing features would remain part of the game's value proposition.
"Additional online services through Beachhead could include a more extensive in-game wagering system (Zynga poker style), competitive leagues/tournaments, community development, exclusive content, traditional Map Pack DLC offerings, and vanity / customization related items," reads the report from research firm Janco Partners.
The report adds that Beachhead could raise as much as $134 million in addition to "sales from traditional map pack PDLC offerings," attracting 5 million players.
Activision is set to unveil Beachhead features during promotion for its next Call of Duty game.
