Call Of Duty 2014 To Be Announced In May, Codenamed ‘Blacksmith’
Call of Duty’s 2014 release, currently being developed by Sledgehammer, will be announced in May and is codenamed ‘Blacksmith’, according to PSU.
Activision has already confirmed that Sledgehammer is developing 2014’s Call of Duty, but there has been no official announcement of the game itself as of yet.
Activision recently moved Call of Duty to a three year development cycle, with development alternating between Sledgehammer, Treyarch and Infinity Ward.
A job listing posted on the Infinity Ward website suggests that the next Infinity Ward Call of Duty will be on PS4 and Xbox One, but not PS3 and Xbox 360.
It’s not clear whether it will be the first next-gen only Call of Duty, though, although we would expect the announcement of Sledghammer’s Call of Duty game to confirm that the title will be on Xbox 360 and PS3.
