Bungle President Talks Xbox One DRM Issues
Microsoft’s woes continue as more bad news surrounding the Xbox One continues to spill out, making the subject of always-on DRM a particularly hot topic.
But how does that affect Bungie and its Destiny? The mutliplayer FPS game is an always online persistent world, so what does Bungie make of the Xbox One’s DRM issues.
Speaking with NowGamer at E3 2013, Bungie’s president Harold Ryan said “Whether they DRM or not doesn’t actually matter for us because we’re taking a leap and saying in order to provide the experience we believe in you’ll have to be a connected gamer.”
Harold Ryan added that “what the platform providers do with it at that point is up to them. It won’t affect us.”
Makes sense, and since Destiny is also coming to PS4 – with exclusive PS4 and PS3 content, no less – you can still play it without having to bend to Microsoft’s whim.
