The creative director also described Master Chief as the "perfect reflection of power projection," adding that "Halo isn't great for its story. Halo is great because it's fun to play – it allows every player to be this powerful actor in a rich physical simulation."
Staten also mused "wouldn't it be great if we could make a world that was always there for you? Wow, that would be great."

Bungie said at the time: "We are looking at how to create more meaningful persistent interactions with our fans"
