Black Ops 2 PC Specs Released, Includes ‘Enhanced Graphics’
Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 isn’t far off, and while Treyarch is still busy putting the finishing touches to the next COD game, it still managed to reveal the PC specs for the game.
They’re not too demanding, thankfully, though it is only the minimum PC specs that are detailed, there’s no mention of the recommended.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- OS: Windows Vista SP2 or Windows 7
- CPU: Intel Core2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHz or AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHz
- Memory: 2GB for 32-bit OS or 4GB for 64-bit OS
- Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 512 MB or ATI Radeon HD 3870 512 MB
Alongside these specs came a short FAQ, detailing some of the special enhancements and features of the PC version of Black Ops 2.
First off, if you’re still running Windows XP then Black Ops 2 won’t work. Since the engine has been upgraded to DirectX11, XP is no longer compatible and you’ll need Vista or later for it to work.
Some of the benefits of the PC version include performance optimisation, enhanced graphics and… gulp… “proprietary anti-cheat technology.”
More specifically, the post details some of the enhanced graphics, touting better “lighting, shadows, antialiasing, bloom, depth of field, ambient occlusion, and other enhanced effects that are still in the works.”
And as if you didn’t already expect it, Black Ops 2 on PC will run on a higher resolution and at higher framerates.
