Before The Internet, This Is What Nintendo Counsellors Used To Help Hapless Gamers
Before we lived in an area where game guides were a click away and we could buy cheat codes as in-app purchases, Nintendo used to run a helpline of game play counsellors who could walk you through tricky bits of your favourite NES games.
MetalJesusRocks on YouTube has managed to get a hold of one of the amazing binders that the game counsellors referred to in helping gamers out and an employee handbook of guidelines. Both have been chronicled in a fantastic video.
Highlights include hand-drawn maps of some pretty complex RPGs, notes from developers and Nintendo advising their team on how best to help gamers and even good luck messages. Give the video a watch to see what it was all about.
