Wii U Sales Jump 125% After Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Release
Sales of the Wii U jumped 125% in a week after the release of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.
Retail sources told MCV that almost half of the revenue generated by Wii U software during the week came from Capcom’s latest Monster Hunter.
HMV also cut the price of the Premium bundle by £140 and another key exclusive, Lego City Undercover, was released.
Though the console is still underperforming, Nintendo will likely be relieved to see the upturn in the UK after retailers criticised the console’s pricing and lack of advertising and asked the firm for talks, with some suggesting the shops were threatening to reduce the console’s retail space.
