Sims 3 Confirmed For Consoles
The console versions, coming to Xbox 360, PS3, DS and Wii, are due to launch in autumn. Rather than a stripped-down version of the PC game, each version will come rammed full of connectivity options and multiplayer modes.
In an MCV interview, EA’s executive producer Sam Player explains, "We're bringing players the best console and handheld game for The Sims franchise to date and are excited to offer a unique experience for all types of gamers on their platform of choice."
The PS3 and 360 versions will boast Facebook connectivity as well as the option to upload or download creations online. Wii owners can take a stroll on the new beach town location and take part in a 'life moments' multiplayer mode.
Finally DS, players can let rip with their stylus and design their Sims environment using a touch-based editor.
The Sims Studio general manager Scott Evans continues, “The Sims series continues to be one of the most successful videogames of all time by providing universally appealing content and focusing on the player's imagination, emergent gameplay mechanics, and the innate humour evident in the virtual world of The Sims. We're building on this foundation and applying new features that will make for a robust, deep and rewarding gameplay experience.”
Console versions will also feature new 'Karma Powers', time-limited perks that players can apply to their Sims. Examples include, 'get lucky', 'instant beauty' and the interestingly titled 'epid fail'
Details on that last one please EA…
