Rumour: Apple About To Buy EA or Sony?
"We strongly believe that one or more very strategic opportunities may come along, that we can take, that we're in a unique position to take advantage of because of our strong cash position," Jobs said during an investor call.
"So I think that we would like to continue to keep our powder dry because we do feel that there are one or more strategic opportunities in the future," added the Apple boss, suggesting he has his eye on potential acquisitions.
According to the NYT, US analysts at Kaufman Brothers think EA, Netflix and Facebook are targets, while finance magazine Barron's is thinking a lot bigger citing "speculation that [Apple] could acquire Adobe Systems, Sony, or even Walt Disney."
Disney? Sony? $51 billion? Something's afoot.
