Death By Cube

There are too many twin-stick shooters on XBLA. Microsoft should ban them from now on, we reckon, since this is Square Enix’s second in as many months. Though Death By Cube is beautiful and stylish (minimalist robot and level designs, but with explosions of blood), we think there’s a good chance the market for this type of game has reached saturation point.

Nevertheless, the game has a wide array of different challenges – survival and defence-based missions, amongst others – and is superbly structured. Currency drives everything, unlocking levels, new worlds and upgrades for your little robot to use. Highly recommended for those new to the twin-stick shooter.
