Verdict

Eternal Sonata is amazing to look at and incredible fun to play.

In terms of story, this is the best RPG concept since... well, forever. Graphically stunning and, more importantly given the subject matter, an aural pleasure as well.

The gameplay never shares the ambitions of the presentation, but neither is it Just Another Tedious JRPG. The new added content is just about worth the excruciating wait for it to arrive on PS3, making for a superior story and a more satisfying all-round package.
