Verdict
The balls have dropped
The Pro Pinball series starts its inevitable descent to an acceptable price bracket with this in-depth answer to the old skool pub favourite. For a penny less than a tenner, you get yourself a single table and more options than you’d ever think necessary. Set how old the machine is, choose a difficulty, adjust the angle of the table and even examine it in eye-watering hi-res. It’s all there, if you really want it. Strange thing is, what we really wanted were tables and an option for scrolling. There are only two flippers, so there is no reason why we need to see the entire, drab, table at once. Still, you pays your money, you takes your chances. Ten quid, one table and decent ball physics – what more could you expect? Anyone who’s ever played Pinball Dreams on the Amiga will know just how good a pinball game can really be. And for the rest of you we have Fantastic Journey.
