Verdict
Touch me, I wanna feel your stylus.
Mini-game titles are two a penny on the DS, but picking a half decent one is tricky. Are they going to contain a few lame novelty titles, along with a bunch of filler games? More than likely. Fortunately, Midway’s latest addition to the genre is a good one. There’s no filler, and the ancient titles that have made it into the mix are perfectly acceptable ones like solitaire and a rather clever poker derivative.
There are 20 games in all, and with that many there’s always going to be something you feel like playing. The weakest of the bunch are the arcade affairs, which really don’t stand up too well to the quality of the rest of the package. Perhaps it’s the stylus controls making things a little difficult for the developers, or perhaps it’s that these titles require things like sprites, gameplay and the occasional dash of physics. Either way, there are word games (which will last forever), card games that most should enjoy, and picture puzzle ones for whenever you have to look after your little cousin. Each game works out at a quid each. You do the maths.
Final Verdict
At a quid a pop, this is good value. Most of the mini-games have lasting appeal. 7.5/10
