What is it with software publishers? Suddenly out of the blue two of them have decided to release football quiz games for the PSone within the space of a week.

Championship Manager Quiz from Eidos is certainly the more workmanlike of the two titles, although what it lacks in fancy visuals it makes up for with an impressive databank of over 11,000 footy-related questions. Single players can take part in either an Exhibition match or Keepy Uppy (which is basically a survival event). A two-player mode is also on offer, as well as a Pub Quiz option, where a series of questions can be selected and the answers are revealed at the end. As far as the questions are concerned the topics are mostly focused on domestic football from the English and Scottish divisions, although international football is also included.

So, between this and THQ’s effort, which should you go for? Well, there’s not really that much in it. Sky Sports Football Quiz is superior in terms of presentation, but this has the edge in the number of questions contained.
