Nintendo Responds To 3DS ‘Black Screen’ Claims
Nintendo UK told NowGamer that users should get the latest firmware for the console.
"If anyone is experiencing any problems with their Nintendo 3DS console, we recommend that in the first instance they download and install the latest system update, now available online," said a representative. "If the problems still persist we recommend they contact their local Nintendo Customer Service centre to investigate the problem further."
Multiple reports on NeoGaf, AVForums, and DigitalSpy have suggested that the 3DS, which launched in the UK on Friday and the US on Sunday, suffers from a 'black screen of death' that requires the console to be rebooted.
The error seems to have occurred during the playing of numerous launch titles, as well as the in-built 3DS applications – some users have been unable to fix the issue, while others have successfully followed the on-screen instructions.
