E3: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow announced

Christopher Reynolds 10:09, Wednesday 3 June 2009

Konami has announced a brand new Castlevania game for PS3 and 360

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is a fresh start for the age old series, and follows a story unrelated to the previous games.

The game is a tale of vengence, featuring a bloke called Gabriel whose mask can bring the dead back to life.

“Castlevania as you know was created in Japan and it was great”

Madrid-based Mercury Steam is handling development, with  Hideo Kojima supervising.

"Castlevania as you know was created in Japan, and it was great," said Kojima. "But to keep it more appealing in the future, we thought about making it this way."

You may remember that a game called Lords of Shadow was announced at GC in 2008. Well Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is the same game, just reworked to make it a part of the Castlevania franchise.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is out sometime in 2010.
