Warner offers to buy Midway

Warner Bros has made a USD 33 million bid for bankrupt publisher Midway
The offer would see Warner acquire "substantially all of [Midway's] US assets," including rights to the Mortal Kombat franchise and Midway's Chicago and Seattle studios.
Warner's offer does not include Midway's studios in Newcastle or San Diego, nor the rights to Midway's TNA wrestling franchise, or the rights to The Wheelman.

However, before the sale agreement can be approved by the bankruptcy court, Midway will have to put its assets up for competitive bidding from other parties.
As you probably already know, Midway has been in a great deal of financial trouble as of late, and to make matters worse its creditors are suing current owner Mark Thomas for fraud. So Warner's offer represents some much-needed good news for the struggling publisher.
