Marvel Vs Capcom 2

Capcom confirms rumours that a port of Marvel Vs Capcom 2 is heading to PS3 and 360

Classic beat-’em-up Marvel Vs Capcom 2, featuring a massive 56 characters, will be released on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live this summer.

The port has been handled by Backbone, the same studio behind Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, and is based on the superior Dreamcast version of the game.

“Marvel Vs Capcom 2 will also feature an online mode similar to that used in SSFIITHDR”

Players will be able to choose between three graphical options: Classic, which retains the original visuals of the game, and two HD upscaling modes, Smooth and Crisp.

Marvel Vs Capcom 2 will also feature an online mode similar to that used in SSFIITHDR.

A demo should hit PSN on 30 April in the US, and a few days later in the UK. No demo has been announced for Xbox Live.

We got some hands-on time with the game at Captivate, and while it was great to see MVC2 revived, the port hasn’t received the same TLC as Backbone showered on Super Street Fighter II. Still, any excuse to get out our Street Fighter IV sticks…
