Starcraft II Launches, First Impressions

Say goodbye to your social life, StarCraft II has launched worldwide.

We've been playing it solidly since yesterday, our eyes propped open with matchsticks, but we're happy to report that the game is working well with no glaring issues to speak of.

Starcraft II requires a Battle.net account to activate, but if you don't have one, the game will take you straight to the sign up page.

“Single player has a lot of polish.”

The game also requires the much debated Real ID system which removes all player anonimity, requiring players to use their real name.

360 Magazine's senior staff writer and avid Starcraft II fan Sam Bandah explained, "Battle.net is Blizzard's Xbox Live, I can see Activision releasing its games on the service in future because the whole thing is incredibly slick."

Regarding the single player campaign, Sam stated, "Single player has a lot of polish. Although there's a patch required to get playing, I did it all through Battle.net and didn't have to mess about on forums to find it or anything like that."

Sounds great, keep an eye out for Sam's Starcraft II review later in the week.

In the meantime, check out our masive Starcraft II preview here.
