Capcom: 'New Resi Games Are Not Resi 6'
Dave Cook 09:17, Tuesday 27 July 2010

Capcom has responded to news that it will up production of its Resident Evil series from one or two games a year to four, stating that this doesn't apply to Resident Evil 6.
NowGamer contacted a Capcom spokesperson who explained, "You can figure this one out really. These new Resident Evil games won't be Resident Evil 6 or Resident Evil 7 or anything like that. They will be spin-off titles."
Because current Resident Evil titles require staff of over 100 people, Capcom is looking to outsource the work to other teams to create more Resident Evil games.
“Capcom has previously been able to produce one full Resident Evil title every four years”
It's quite a turnaround considering the lacklustre sales of Bionic Commando and Dark Void led capcom to reconsider using third-party developers. Check out our full report on Capcom's reaction here.
What do you think? Should Resident Evil take a bow while it's still ahead or would you like to see three or four new games in the series each year?
