Kamiya: "You can trust what we say as creators"

Hideki Kamiya, creator of Devil May Cry and the upcoming Bayonetta, has said that his new studio Platinum Games wants to build a brand that gamers can trust

Writing on Platinum Games' blog, ex-Capcom dev Kamiya said that he is "unsympathetic" to the current games market, which he describes as "sequel-flooded", and says that Platinum is dedicated to making "original games."

"Even though we are unsympathetic to the sequel-flooded market, I am aware that we as game creators need to recognize our responsibility in creating the situation," writes Kamiya.

“You can trust what we say as creators”

"...It is because there has been no lack of disappointing titles that we have invited this situation upon ourselves," he adds. "The staff here at PlatinumGames wants to make games that serve as proof that “you can trust what we say as creators.”"

Kamiya also warned fans that Bayonetta will be a "sadistically hard game".

Bayonetta is out on PS3 and 360 later in the year.
