Dead Space Spin-Offs Headed To PSN/XBLA?

Dead Space: Extraction, the on-rails Wii shooter that rated so highly but sold so poorly may be on its way to PSN and Xbox Live if a survey outed by Kotaku is accurate, correct and actually true
There also seems to be another Dead Space title, this one subtitled Planet Cracker, on the way. Extraction would apparently come in at around the $15 mark – which would probably work out at £10-15 – and would be a full HD makeover of the original title.
This, though still just a rumour, makes us quite happy. A nice splodge of Dead Spacey goodness to tide us over while we wait for the second game in the main series can only be a good thing, and as our review says Extraction is something that deserves to be played.
“Planet Cracker is a "resource strategy game"”
Planet Cracker, on the other hand, is apparently a completely new strategic property. According to the survey received by Kotaku it is a “resource strategy game where players will manage a CEC Mining operation”. Players will have to “maximize their daily profit” while “defending their hard-won ore from Space Pirates”. It all sounds thrilling. It also seems that profits earned in Planet Cracker could be transferable to Dead Space 2, so that would be a bit more incentive to play this spin-off if you’re interested in the main sequel.
That’s all well and good, but right now this is just rumour. Tasty, sexy rumour – but rumour nonetheless. We’ll let you know if anything more concrete pops up.
