Activision Blizzard is on the lookout for new aquisitions, and is hoping that the economic recession will bring some bargains
“The combination of Activision holding a fair amount of cash and presumably prices being depressed, not only for publicly traded companies, but also likely for new intellectual property licensing rights, should certainly create opportunities,” said Activision's president Mike Griffith in an interview with Bloomberg.
Activision Blizzard currently has USD 3 billion burning a hole in its war chest. But while Griffith says the publisher is looking for international expansion, it wont be making any hasty decisions.
“We won't rush to judgement just because we have cash, we will be very disciplined”
“We won’t rush to judgment just because we have cash," he said "We will be very disciplined.”
Activision announced its merger with Blizzard in December 2007, the deal was worth USD 18 billion and saw Activision Blizzard take over EA as the world's biggest publisher.
